Not too long ago I had reviewed Mandy and Andy – The Seasons. They’ve recently released an HD iPad version of the eBook. If you are lucky enough to be an iPad owner and would like to have a copy, I am giving away a “promo code” for the eBook to the first person to comment on this post.

If you’d like to learn more about the app itself, you can see a video of the app here, or you can read more about the app on the iTunes app store here.

There are a just few handful of foods I truly love, and would have to take with me on a desert island. Pizza is definitely one of them. Pillsbury makes a refrigerated pizza crust that helps you make your own home-cooked pizza even easier. Just roll it out, top with whatever you want, and only a few minutes later: fresh from the oven pizza. It’s so quick and easy, even the kids can get involved with minimal mess and it doesn’t add a lot of time to the whole cooking process.

We gave the home-made pizza making thing a try. I’m a fan of mushrooms – of course my kids are not – so we made half mushrooms, half pepperoni and everyone was happy.

Pillsbury, through MyBlogSpark, provided us with a free coupon to try their pizza crust. They also gave us a free copy of “Pictureka!” a fun “find it fast” game.

If you’d like to try making your own homemade pizza – visit this link for a coupon to save $0.40 when you purchase two packages of Pillsbury Pizza Crust!

I’m also giving away a “Family Pizza Party” prize pack like the one I recevied which includes a VIP coupon for a free package of Pillsbury Pizza Crust and the Pictureka! Game.

We have desperately been trying to find healthy snacks for the kids in our house. Thankfully, my daughter willingly eats veggies with some salad dressing for a snack after school. My son is not so easy – we have a difficult time getting him to eat anything healthy. One thing both of them really like are the Simply… Go-Gurt yogurt tubes. These snacks are low fat, a good source of calcium and contain no high fructose corn syrup or artificial flavors. They come in two flavors: Strawberry and Mixed Berry.

The fact that the yogurt comes in tubes is especially convenient because my kids never seem to sit down to do anything. Even when they eat. They take a bite, run around the room. Take another bite. Snacks that can be taken on the go are snacks that are more likely to be finished!

We received a “Simplify Your Life” prize pack from Yoplait through MyBlogSpark. It included a coupon for a free sample of Simply… Go-Gurt, a pocket Etch a Sketch, weekly planner and a seat back organizer. Well, I picked up our Simply… Go-Gurt sample on Friday morning and it barely made it through the weekend. The kids devour this stuff. (To be honest, we normally buy this stuff in bulk from Costco! LOL!)

So, I have a few things to offer you. First, at the bottom of this post, you’ll see a graphic. The first 30 people to click on the “Try it Free” tab will receive a coupon for a free package of Simply… Go-Gurt. (After the 30 coupons are claimed – there will be a coupon for $1.10 off coupon). On the “Weigh In” tab, you can read what other people are saying about Simply… Go-Gurt and give your thoughts. Or spread the coupon love and click the “Spread the savings” to include a coupon on your site or tell others about the coupon.

A few months ago, I reviewed a very cute iPhone app called iMoo. Just a quick recap – it’s an electronic version of one of those “moo boxes” – with the added bonus that you can make your own recordings. I have an extra promo code to give away (free). If you’d like the application, leave me a comment. (First one to comment gets it). This offer is only good for one week. (until 4/4/2010)

My daughter is without doubt the biggest Barbie fan I know. She has every Barbie movie ever made and will do just about anything any time a new one comes out to get it ASAP. Including writing a review for me! LOL! Without further ado – here is Rachel’s review of the movie (edited a little bit by me) :)
—————————-
My name is Rachel and I am writing a review on Barbie in A Mermaid Tale. This movie is about a girl named Merliah. She goes on an adventure to save her mother and the people of Oceana and meets some new people on the way. One friend she meets is a dolphin named Zuma who helps Merliah defeat her mother’s evil sister, Eris. As queen, Eris controls the people of Oceana with whirlpools that are impossible to escape. Merliah has to get three tools to defeat Eris, so she goes on an adventure to get what she needs. To find out more, you’ll have to watch the movie.

I liked this movie because I think Barbie is amazing, and she gets to have all sorts of adventures. I also love mermaids and sometimes wish I could be one! I would love to be able to breath under water and have a tail of my own. I also like this movie because whoever Barbie is playing, she learns a lesson. In this movie, she learns that what makes you different can be your greatest strength.

You should get this movie because there’s lots of action and because of Barbie’s cool adventures in Malibu and Oceana. Also, at the end of the movie, there is a music video called “She’s the Queen of the Waves.”
—————————-
Convincing, no? ;) If you have a Barbie fan in your house, then you’ll be happy to know that I have five copies of Barbie in A Mermaid Tale to giveaway. (1 movie per winner) Here is how you can enter:

1) Leave a comment on this post. (Required. Value: 1 entry.)

2) Tweet about this post. (and leave a comment here telling me you did). Click here to tweet it now. (Optional. Value: 1 entry.)

3) If you have a blog or website, link to this post. (and leave a comment here telling me you did) (Optional. Value: 2 entries.)

As a working mom, dinner time is the worst time of the day for me. For some reason, even if I have a plan in place to make a specific dinner, by the end of the day, anything short of microwaving something for a few minutes, seems like more than I want to deal with. For this reason, when MyBlogSpark offered up a free sample of Wanchai Ferry dinner, I definitely wanted in. Wanchai Ferry frozen entrees are now available in the freezer case at Target and many other grocery stores. We tried the Orange Chicken and it was really quite good. It was also very quick and easy to make. The entrees are made for two people, so my daughter and I shared it. Her plate was completely clean when we were done. (And there were even veggies in there too! YAY!)

The MyBlogSpark was a nice package too, it came with a coupon for a free package of any Wanchai Ferry frozen entree, a set of asian-inspired rice bowls, chopsticks, bamboo placemats, a handful of flavored fortune cookies and a $25 Target gift card. Now, the best part? I will be giving away a prize package just like mine.

UPDATE: This contest has now closed.

art-boxes

General Mills is doing a promotion right now when you buy two boxes of specially marked boxes of cereal, you can print up a free movie ticket. (up to $12 value) Here’s how it works: Look for either Honey Nut Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Lucky Charms, Trix or Reese’s Puffs cereal. Inside, you’ll find a code. When you have two codes – go here to enter them in and get your free movie ticket! (Click to find a list of participating theaters or for more details.) You should be able to find these boxes in stores starting the beginning of this month (November)!

To help spread the word about this promotion, General Mills, through MyBlogSpark, sent me coupons for us to head to the theater ourselves as well as a coupon for a free box of General Mills cereal. Personally, the only somewhat kid friendly movie out right now is Where the Wild Things Are, and I think it’s not something my kids would enjoy. I know for a fact that there’s a few more kid movies coming out soon. In fact the new Disney movie is due out in the middle of December: The Princess and The Frog – so I’ll be holding out a bit before we head to the theaters.

BUT! I didn’t want to wait to tell you about the promotion because I have a packet of 4 free movie tickets and a coupon for 1 free box of cereal for a GIVEAWAY! (The tickets are good until September 2010, so if you’re like me and wanting to hold out for a particular movie to be released – you’ll still be able to do that)

HOW TO ENTER “MOVIE MOMENT” CONTEST:
I’m going to keep this really simple. Each item below only counts once and is worth 1 entry into the contest. You can do just the first one – or all three – up to you.

1) (Mandatory Entry – you must at least do this one) Leave a comment on this post.
Make sure you put in a real email address (that you check often!) as this is the method I will use to contact you if you win. In your comment, I’d love to know what movie you’d want to see (or if you’re going to hold out for awhile for a particular movie to come out). Or tell me what your favorite movie is. :)

2) Tweet about this post. If you’re feeling uninspired, you can use this text exactly:

Go to the movies FOR FREE! Details and MOVIE TICKETS GIVEAWAY here: http://bit.ly/3vJGvJ Pls RT

Then come back and leave a comment telling me you did (and tell me your Twitter ID so I can see your tweet) :D

3) If you have a blog – mention and link to this post.

Contest ends November 12th at 10pm MST. There is no purchase necessary to enter the contest. I will be using random.org to choose the winner. I’ll contact the winner via email, and he/she will have 48 hours to respond. After 48 hours, if I don’t receive a response, another winner will be chosen.

So, if you’ve never heard of Piggies and Paws, you may be asking yourself, WHAT is Piggies and Paws??? It’s a little hard to describe (and unfortunately, I’m not able to use photos of the actual artwork) but basically it’s custom made artwork using your child’s handprint or footprint. We’ve all done cute little crafty things with our kids handprints, but there is definitely a difference between what I can pull off, and what can be done with Piggies and Paws.

My friend, Cheryl, is an independent artist here in Utah and we’ve had a number of prints done by her. We have two in our house, and we loved them so much that we got four more to send to grandparents and uncles and aunts. They’re unique and personal and made perfect gifts. Everyone loved them.

So to get an idea for what you’re getting – go to the Piggies and Paws website. There’s a few pictures on the homepage there, but when you have one of these done, there are TONS of designs to choose from. Seriously. You will have a really hard time picking out what you want!

I also want to mention that you can host a “party” with Piggies and Paws and Cheryl will come to you (within a reasonable distance) to do the handprints of your children and your friend’s children. Hostesses who book in the months of September or October will get your final prints mounted for free. (This might work great at a playgroup get together!) OR – if you don’t want to host your own party, then come to Cheryl’s Open House on Saturday, September 19th from 10am – 1pm or on Friday, October 9th from 5pm – 8pm and you’ll be able to see all the designs that are available.

SO if you would like to win a FREE Piggies and Paws print – here’s what you gotta do:

  • Mandatory Entry: Leave a comment on this post. **Make sure you use a valid email address when you leave your comment – this will be the method I use to contact you should you win. (Value: 1 entry)

For more entries you can do the following (For each, leave a comment here telling me what you did)

Contact Cheryl for more information, RSVP for her Open House (and get directions since I won’t be posting her address here), or book a Piggies and Paws party: chodsdon@piggiesandpaws.com

Contest ends September 9th at 10pm MST. There is no purchase necessary to enter the contest. I will be using random.org to choose the winner. I’ll contact the winner via email, and he/she will have 48 hours to respond. After 48 hours, another winner will be chosen. If the winner is unable to receive the prize (ie. You live too far away) another winner will be chosen.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: The free Piggies and Paws print is only valid for prints created by Cheryl. If you live outside of an hour from Sandy, UT you may need to cover travel expenses to have Cheryl come to you. Or you can make the trip to Cheryl during her Open House. There are Piggies and Paws artists all over the country – so if Cheryl is too far from you, feel free to check out the website to find another closer to you. You will not be able to use your free print prize with other artists, but you can still get some cute prints from them!
