Summer is almost gone?

TMatt Mullenweg will be there. I’m really psyched about that. I feel like some things are coming full circle – A few years ago, Matt asked me to speak at a panel at SXSW and I turned it down. I feel kind of stupid having done that, but at the time, I was working for a company (not for myself, might have been more inclined to do it otherwise), as well, it meant having to travel there by plane and speak in front of people (obviously) – my two worst phobias: flying and public speaking – all rolled up into one. Anyway, I’m glad I was able to get over at least one of those fears in order to take this on.

Portland is such a great city – we would move there if we could. It is on our short list — too bad Shell is in Houston and moving means a new job for Mike. *sigh* (I’m so over 100 degree temps most of August.)

So excited for you speaking at WordCamp! Go with teaching what you know – people will love it. If it is over their heads, you’ll stretch them to grow. Most likely, it won’t be.

Tell Matt I said hi! I didn’t get to go to WordCamp Houston – I had a wedding that day. Such a bummer! Isn’t it crazy to see when things go full circle like that?

I was really happy to see you on the list of speakers. There are usually very few women! I get nervous about speaking but I’ve done a lot of it this year and it gets easier.
My biggest issue is like yours – will I speak over people’s heads or not give them enough meat? I’ve had both problems but they are the exception.
You’ll do great and I hope to meet you on Saturday.
