The price wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. So there will be updates to this saga. Probably towards the end of the month. (That's when they're scheduled for the install) I'll need to do before and after pictures. I'm so excited!!! Isn't that funny? I had to prevent myself from saying to a colleague, "While I was in the shower, I was thinking of you..." meaning I'd been working on solving a work problem or something. Just didn't sound right, y'know?! I think it has to do with being a mom to a pre-schooler: shower right now = only time of real privacy. As for the closets, I bought the real wood IKEA ones even though they were a little too big for the area. My surprisingly handy husband knew that he could cut them down in size. Perhaps you can work with what is called a handyman in my area or someone who advertises in the paper, word of mouth, etc., (rather than a full-fledged, expensive carpenter) and go with the much less expensive? By the way, we didn't buy the doors for the wood IKEA closets; just what they call the carcases (ugh) and the shelves, etc. It is actually the doors that make up most of the price.
